Rep. Tom Rooney will not seek re-election: Report

Florida Rep. Tom Rooney announced Monday that he will not seek re-election.

In a statement to Politico reporter Jake Sherman, the Republican congressman said it was time to “hang em up.” He did not give a definite reason for his departure, but said he looked forward to serving Florida in “again in the future in a different capacity.”

Used to be very safe republican, but now moderate democrats can win there. He made a statement on protecting school kids, don't know the gist of it. Maybe doubts about what he represents?
