political situation. I don't think there's any doubt of that.
We can do that. But we can do that only if we vote together and work to get out a massive turnout of Democrats and others who will vote for Democrats. In 2018 and 2020, we're going to get our chance to change things dramatically.
If we fight among ourselves and some of us don't work to win elections or don't turn out, we will continue on our current disastrous path.
Think about it, please. That's all I ask.

Going after the 2016 Electoral Clown College and prosecuting them for their hand in the violence they helped to normalize. Prosecuting them for the murderers that they are. See if they have ties to Putin as well.
Treating the Republican Party as a hate group.
These are just some of the things that need to happen once we retake Congress, anything else will just buy us some time.

(146,317 posts)Until we manage that feat, your other stuff is irrelevant, really. So, why don't we focus on the attainable goal first? Really.

Frankly, I'm not really seeing it. That worries me. It really does.

(70,129 posts)nobody comes out to vote for a bottom of the ticket candidate and doesnt vote for the top of the ticket.
yes, we are used to thinking of it from the opposite perspective- coattails and all.
but those at the bottom, who operate on a shoestring, can really, really leverage limited dollars. so many run on their own limited funds.
consider throwing them a few bucks.
the blue wave CAN well up from the bottom.
(yes, this is a self centered post. see my sig. but that doesnt make it untrue.)

(146,317 posts)but it is in those elections where we choose the people who have the largest impact on our lives. We need to turn that around this year, and turn out Democrats in massively record numbers. It's up to us - the ones who always go to the polls. We need to build enthusiasm for those state and local races that mean so much in our lives.

(70,129 posts)before. my sister is having a very good time at the doors. so many people happy and excited to have dems on the ballot!
dems have not even bothered to run for county seats for a generation in dupage county. they only occasionally recruited a sacrificial lamb, and were content to be the lovable losers.
it takes guts and grit to put yourself out there. and it is happening. especially all the women running.

(146,317 posts)Door to door campaigning by the candidate is a sure fire way to get votes. People will vote for someone they have met. We had a state senate election here in my district. The Hmong candidate who was in third place, really, after our district convention walked the entire district and personally knocked on every door. He worked full-time doing that. He came to my door twice, in fact. He won. He is our state senator now, and has won a re-election bid. I would not have given him a chance in Hell to win, but he did.
That kind of campaign is a winning model. It's terribly hard work for the candidate, but can lead to victory.
Best of luck to your sister!

(70,129 posts)he told me the same. doors win. phonecalls mostly piss people off.
yard signs are controversial, but in these down ticket races, i think the name recognition is really effective.

(1,663 posts)Keep encouraging like minded people to do the same. A wave is coming, MineralMan. Don't let a few, although very loud, dissenters get you down. I really believe that enough of the disengaged have been awakened and now know that every vote counts. The country is too evenly split to leave anything to chance. As long as we continue to work, they will vote.
