So yes - they teach it a lot. Any state with mandated gun safety training uses NRA instructors and courses.

Their mantra, as always, is "be a good guy with a gun." Buy the latest and scariest gun so you can defeat the baddies.

So, no they do not oppose gun safety. States turn to them to deliver gun safety training - any call for increased gun safety training will result in more business for the NRA.
