(6,229 posts)We better figure out a way to protect them. They are being attacked big time from Fox lies viewers. They are spreading lies about the kids being paid.

(14,492 posts)In many ways, the damage wrought by non-stop lies and deceptions of Faux News and talk radio can be just as bad for our society as a rabid gunman.
The legacy of the deceased children and teachers will live on forever in the memories of their families by virtue of the joy and sunshine brought into many lives. The legacy of Rupert Murdoch will be the corrosive destruction of American society.

(9,090 posts)it's one thing to see them on tv and another when he weaves them into a threatening accusation over an hour
he'll say shit and then back off after the damage is done or do hypotheticals and whatifs, but he knows what he's doing
then 300 other shits will follow the lead from 1500 radio stations and media will think it's just popular opinion

(9,090 posts)which is where the nra does most of it's damage from
if they were going to pay $1000 for a one hour radio infomercial about the treasonous attack on the seond amendment by democrats and kids those 260 stations x 15 hours a day would be worth about $1BIL /year or about $20MIL/week.
1200 stations are worth about $5BIL/year of $18/MIL/DAY FREE for the NRA.
it's fucking ridiculous the left ignores this.
here are those 88 universities - and they need to be asked "if the NRA or the KKK bought the station you broadcast sports on, would you start looking for alternatives?" that's what the NRA/KKK/GOP did about 30 years ago to most of those stations and they've been endorsing that racist gun loving messaging since.
that is why there was no bans after sandy hook even. that is why there will probably be no action now. those stations are what keeps republicns in line and enables them to take the money, more than any other factor.
protests there would hit right at their base and what disinforms their base - those stations are their HQs and any discussion at the university about looking for alternatives will scare off station advertisers
