Middle School student heroism will make you weep

.
.

.
.
...For those of you who may not have Twitter, ...

Adult asks the child if they are doing drills, in school, concerning alarms of a shooter danger.

The black male child responds yes; and he informs the adult that they cover windows, lock doors and he, along with a few select others, push the heavy teachers desk against the door.

He informs the adult ...the class gets behind him & his friends.

Alarmed and angry it may be a racial thing, the adult asks the child - "Why you"???

....The child responds that he would rather be the one who gives his life, so that his friends & classmates may live

I remember the demonstrations against the Vietnam war. People were angry as hell that we were sending our young men "over there" to die. Now we have children, CHILDREN. HERE. preparing to die. Is it time yet? Can we talk about it now?

Our children are doing what the Vietnam protesters did.

The Vietnam "draft" put our young adults in harm's way; but not of their own volition (in manufactured war zones).

Slaughter of our children, in our schools, is another - imminent harm - in manufactured (NRA) war zone.

Adults need to care enough to see the bigger pictures.

I specially find this horrific in contrats to myt childood. I grew up mostly in Europe and we didn't even give gun ownership (of any kind) a second thought

Anywhere you go, you are at risk of anyone over 18 going and buying a gun that shoots 400 rounds a minute deciding they want to kill people that day. It makes me sick. I hope the organizing these kids in Florida are doing will get the spineless whores in DC to do something that may actually prevent this from happening so often.

Peace

kids have to deal with horrible things like mass murder in their classrooms, which was unthinkable decades ago. Kids these days are strong in different ways. This generation that is growing up with mass shootings every few days is the one that will finally defeat the NRA and pass sensible gun laws.

He is 10.000 times more mature than the orange buffoon !

NRA and anyone who support and defend the "right" to own a gun made a 10 years old boy protect the lives of his friends and adults instead of being protected by adults....
