Sanders' Local Social Media Organizer Claims He Noticed Russian Infiltration Years Ago

This is from the NBC affiliate in San Diego. The video interview in really interesting, I don’t know how to imbed it here. But it is at the link.

Sanders' Local Social Media Organizer Claims He Noticed Russian Infiltration Years Ago
By Mackenzie Maynard

A San Diego man who organized Bernie Sander’s local Facebook group during the 2016 presidential election told NBC 7 he noticed traces of Russia’s hidden social media trolling campaign years ago. After Sanders was beat out by Hillary Clinton for the Democratic nomination, he noticed something was a little off.

“Hundreds and hundreds of people were joining Bernie Sanders pages on Facebook for a campaign that was over. It made no sense.” John Mattes told NBC 7.

Mattes resorted to checking other Bernie Sanders pages around the country. “It was everywhere," he said. Mattes noticed that the posts had a similar theme. "‘Anti-Hillary’, ‘Hillary is sick’, ‘Hillary is involved in Al Qaeda’, ‘Hillary’s getting money from the Russians’”. “I started digging deeper, tried to look at the servers, I tried to look at the IP address of these people,” Mattes added. Soon, he realized that the people behind these accounts weren't actually people. “I call them at the time ghosts. Really they’re bots, they’re trolls” Mattes said.

Mattes soon caught on to some of their telling signs. "They would misspell where they’re living in the United States or they would have no profile at all, they were just ghosts."

“All they had to do was open up a fake Facebook account and then join a page, a Bernie Sanders page, where you find sympathetic people to Anti-Hillary posts and you circulate a vicious post. Pretty straight." After a lengthy investigation, Mattes said he took his findings to the Clinton Campaign as well as the Obama Administration last September.

Before you alert on this for bashing Democratic figures, I'll remind you he's an Independent and only becomes a Democrat for a few months at a time and as of right now is not one.

Everybody in Putin's plan played a small role. Stein was supposed to whittle a few percent of votes as were the Bernie or Busters.

Don't defend Russian propagandists.

In Portland, Oregon. Thom Hartman needs to come back to Portland, pick up his houseboat storage, and move it to the land of the free. Russia.

I felt hugely betrayed, as did many, with his DC move. I even spoke with Thom and went back and forth about a big story in the news that I had insight on. I sent him my bonafides and he valued my opinion on the matter.

and realized he wasn't practicing what he preached.

Then, again, he was.

He knows all about propaganda. He used to own an advertising firm in Georgia.

I'm hoping that at some point avid, no one but Bernie, supporters will see and turn away from the Kremiln's assistance......including Bernie. Not sure how much more needs to come out.

It was difficult watching some of my fellow liberals fall for the lies and propaganda.
I think we will be smarter next time.

Yep, they have infiltrated just about everything. I hope our nation is not completely powerless and has initiated countermeasures.

I used to visit it and they were freaking insane. I had friend requests from all sorts of fakes and blocked them all. Some did not even try to hide the fact that they were Russians. Multiple threads were started talking about how those people weren't real, but they just shout you down. No matter how hard I tried to get them to see what their protest votes were going to do, someone was there to insist it wasn't true but they need to make a statement.

It makes SOOOO much sense now.
