(25,916 posts)From the movie Hud. I didn't see it until it was on TV in about 1981, and I nearly fell of the couch when I heard that line. The most prescient line ever, and it still rings with authenticity all these years later.

(5,544 posts)Sadly, I don't think they have that particular one anymore.
I am on my third generation of COEXIST tshirts. I always get complimented on it when I wear it around. Something about a t-shirt gets a lot more attention and interaction than a bumper sticker.

(25,711 posts)"Fake it. That's a big thing with me. Many years ago I was riding on the Twentieth Century to Chicago. I was just a little girl. On the train was a wonderful entertainer by the name of Frisco. ... He had a bowler hat and the most exquisite shoes. He came and sat in the dining car for breakfast and cracked open his newspaper; he looked great. The waiter ... said, 'What will you have this morning?' To which Frisco answered, 'Ice cream and applesauce.' ... The waiter was very upset ... and said, 'we haven't got any ice cream or any applesauce.' 'Okay, fake it.' That made a tremendous impression on me."
