foisted on this nation. I hope these little racist/misogynist/Islamophobic/xenophobic pea-brained pustules are soaking in all the hate and destruction that has resulted from their non-thinking, because this will be their last hurrah. Someday soon, they'll be nothing but a bitter, isolated minority with nothing but hate as their legacy, and God help them when that occurs.
I don't want to hear about their problems, anxieties or concerns. I don't want to hear about their needs. I just want them to go away.

(4,407 posts)hate only hurts the hater. Its not about having the right hate, its about eradicating it.

(49,052 posts)Further, forgiving does not mean forgetting.
You can forgive (in your mind, to let go and get peace) while prosecuting someone or working to kick them out or deny them something they don't deserve. In truth, forgiving lets you work harder to never forget.

(35,779 posts)is one of the biggest problems we have.
I once had a department head who told me conflict was good. The challenge is to take both views and form consensus and a plan of action, no how matter limited it might be. Getting everyone to solve a problem is essential to a solution. Why? Because one buys into a solution that one has been part of forming.
I hope it is those who want to exclude others that become the " bitter, isolated minority with nothing but hate as their legacy." I actually wish there were none of them, but I guess that is too much to ask.

(51,644 posts)Nikolas Cruz, the 19-year-old who confessed to the school shooting at a Florida high school this week, reportedly expressed racist and violent views in a private (Instagram) chat group.
"I hate jews, ni**ers, immigrants, Cruz reportedly wrote in the group, which he had named Murica (American flag emoji) (eagle emoji) great.
In the span of hundreds of messages, Cruz openly discussed killing people and specifically referred to killing Mexicans, Jews, gay people and black people, according to CNN. "Shoot them in the back of head, he reportedly wrote in reference to gay people. He also espoused a disdain for white women, particularly if they were in interracial relationships.
One member of the group chat told CNN that Cruz seemed nice but also had some mental issues." "All (I know) is that he likes guns and really hates liberals, the member said.

Also, this very good article describes the average GOP voter and their hate is so deeplyningrainednand has been for decades that it is a waste of time and energy to talk to them. I shared this article with several liberal friends and family and they had the same reaction, "WOW! Now I get it". Long but worth the read.

(1 post)Hi This is my first post after lurking for a while. But, in regards to the OP, the *phobes have always been here. I'm shocked that people didn't see this coming. Back in the Reagan days, through the Bushes, these people have always been here, they just didn't understand that being President isn't the same as being a King. They expected a new Revolution, but what they got was a blubbering idiot trying to be Stalin.
As traumatic as it is being any sort of minority right now (I'm gay myself), I feel that this needed to happen. The *phobes are in the open now, and now that we have a better idea of how massive the problem is we can work to get rid of it. The *phobes are our country's Shadow. We can't move forward until we deal with it and embrace our diversity.
Just my thoughts, not facts. This isn't new, it's just out in the open again.

(15,396 posts)our 500 year rule of America. They're dying off rapidly already, and probably won't have enough votes in just a few more years. At that time we will take over everywhere the South will fall for good. Nothing can stop us from the America we want and demand, they won't have the votes to get a mayor elected much less a someone who will set national policy.
You won't have to forgive, we can extract our revenge ten fold and they'll know our hate is real. I've seen the lives old people live when they know everyone hates them...they die a bitter miserable death of loneliness.
Our suffering now is very short lived (maybe 4 years at most) the suffering we'll inflict on them will be a lifetime. It will be our America soon enough.

(12,552 posts)concocted a toxic stew that includes hatred and violence as the main ingredients. Over the years Pox News and hate radio have fomented division and hatred by telling the gullible dupes that Democrats are mortal enemies that must be eliminated.
The politics of elimination has served them well, leading to the complete control of all branches of government while representing the violent, ignorant minority.
Violence and hatred are making us a weaker nation and lowering expectations and living standards for all but the top one percent.
The Amish have a way of dealing with those like the current crop of Republicans. It's called shunning. They are beyond redemption in the majority of cases. Reagan planted the seeds of division when he started using the word liberal as a pejorative and declaring the government of the people as the enemy. But Reagan wasn't really a bad character. He was an unwitting front man for the criminal enterprise that has seized the reins of power and abuses that power every day.
We do not have the luxury of staying home on election day because our candidates aren't meeting our purity tests.

(10,117 posts)People woke up. We have one of the worst voter participation records of any developed country in the world. The Womens March, the resistance to white nationalism, and the many Indivisible groups mean that people know they cant take anything for granted. The elections in Alabama and Virginia were good indicators of voters realizing the need to get decent people in office. The reactions of students in Florida after the Parkland school shooting said they they are awake to the fact that it is Republicans who are the problem. Students in other states held protests as well. They may not be old enough to vote this year, but many of them will be in 2020. A Florida students comment was perfect. It was something along the lines of You (Republicans) shrug your shoulders at dozens of kids brutally murdered and freak out about a rainbow cake. Absolutely perfect. We need ads about the crazy things that cause Republicans to freak out whike they ignore the mayhem around them.
