(43,219 posts)So because they didn't start their campaign the same exact moment Donald Trump officially and formally announced, it means there was no collusion?
Even though Trump had been involved with Russian money for years, and had hosted Miss Universe in Moscow in 2013?
Hoo-kay, Donald.

(36,117 posts)It sounds like a given he believes (thinks, knows) Russia influenced the election. But all he cares about is "SEE? They can't prove I or my campaign had anything to do with it!"
How weird
So as the current POTUS, what does he plan to do about this Russian stuff for the future?

(13,133 posts)Like any good novel, it takes a while for the whole story to emerge. I not calling this whole thing a good story in any way but I do know it sometimes takes time for half-witted fools to paint themselves into a corner.

(19,569 posts)Next he has to address the evidence in the indictment that Russian actively worked to undermine Hillary (which I agree was anti-US) and worked to help get him both the nomination and win him the election.
Well come back to the collusion part a bit down the road when we get our next round of indictments.

(12,600 posts)It sits there, scanning the sky for a target until it sees one which will cause the most damage. In 2014 the Russians had their mechanism for influencing the election in place, "scanning the sky," so to speak. All they needed was a target. In this case, Trump wasn't their first choice, but once it became clear he was the Republicans' nominee for president they narrowed their efforts to supporting that one person.
The first step of Mueller's investigation is to show that Russian attempts at meddling in the U.S. elections existed. Check. Now the focus shifts to the interactions -- if any -- between the Trump campaign and the Russians. I have a feeling the meeting in Trump Tower is going to be one of the linchpins of that investigation.
