9-year-old Lincoln boy sends pit bull after intruder

A Lincoln boy had a security system with some bite when an intruder broke into his home: the family’s pit bull.

Lincoln police say the 9-year-old sent the dog after the intruder when the masked man broke in Wednesday evening. The man bolted and drove away in a silver car.

Officer Angela Sands, spokeswoman for the Lincoln Police Department, said the boy was home alone while his mom left to pick up other kids. The boy was on the home’s second floor when he heard someone trying to open a door to the house.

The dog began growling.
