The gun lobby is way too strong in the USA. No amount of carnage will ever be enough to make any changes.

The gun control debate was over when a guy walked into an elementary school and shot five year olds in the face and congress did nothing

We are also standing up like never before. The Me Too movement has empowered people to speak up. This won't solve anything but people are getting vocal and that's a start.

You could show them a video of their own children, and it wouldn't move them!!! Their love of money, power and control, is all that matters to them...as sad as that is!!

If say the Speaker of the House child gets shot dead in one of these massacres, then we will see some movement on gun control. Until then, all we’ll get are phony prayers to imaginary sky people.

We need to press them consistently and hard and ignore the naysayers that claim it's a loser. The only way to effect change is to press hard and keep the pressure on. It's easy to get frustrated because our system is set up to make it hard to effect quick and easy change with its deadlock. It can take years of built-up pressure before the cork finally pops and anything gets done. The ACA is a perfect example of this.

media will find plenty of human interest stories to play off of people's grief, politicians will express "thoughts and prayers", the victims will be buried and then we wait for the next massacre and start the cycle all over again.

Lather, rinse, repeat.
