If you want to see an old man weep, show me this image

I can NOT imagine a sadder image.

CHILDREN

THEY WERE LITTLE CHILDREN

And it goes on and on and on and on and on . . . . ,

I find this haunting. It makes my heart feel heavy in my chest. They were innocent little kids.

All for guns.

of far sterner stuff than I am. Hopefully, they did not know that over 20 of their little friends had just obeen chopped to pieces by an assault rifle wielded by a mad man.

If you cannot feel compassion for those kids, then you need to question your existence.

There is still something that grabs me in the gut when I think about those beautiful children who had their lives viciously snatched away.

Our current culture is devoid of compassion and empathy.

Ok, that’s not true and way too harsh, but specific people in our current culture are devoid of compassion and empathy and they’re destroying it for all of us.

Which is what my father said the day JFK was murdered. Damn damn damn

Oh Stinky, you've got an old lady crying now.

By the way, if you don't watch Nicolle Wallace's show on MSNBC, I recommend it. She always has a good panel, everyone gets their say. Steve Schmidt was incandescent with rage today, but spoke in his usual measured tones -- about having three young children and how it feels like Russian Roulette every day sending them off to school. They are both so done with this Republican Party.

What brought this up for me was one of their guests today, an African American man who's been around a lot but I never seem to catch his name. He talked at great length about the vast amounts of money being made by selling battlefield weapons in this country -- so much money; and the vast amounts of money being spent to buy politicians. He kept bringing it back to the money being made off this madness.

All for money.

It was the last day of school before Winter Vacation. Three weeks later (my school was year round) I returned to class and we had a staff meeting about safety. My principal wasn't even aware that our classroom doors only lock on the OUTSIDE and open out too (you can't even barricade them) until I informed her about this little fact. Try teaching 6 year olds that day and the day after and so on...it never gets better. I don't know who would want to enter the teaching profession anymore.
