I don't think my heart can take much more. My spirit is broken. I spent a third of my life as a mortician. I have seen what gunshots do to the human body. It's horrific and I cannot imagine having to cope with the task of a mass shooting, especially children. Not only are you dealing directly with the dead bodies, you must sit with the families and help them plan the funerals of those that died. Their babies!
You never forget the faces of the dead.
Show the dead bodies to every person in Congress!
Show the dead, mutilated bodies to everyone who buys a gun!
Ban assault weapons now.
I'm going to get myself together and I'm going to speak out - soon. I know what PTSD feels like. No child should EVER die in our schools from guns or witness death in this way - EVER!
I'm afraid every damned morning when I send my child to school. I wake up at night and see images that are the things of nightmares, only they're not nightmares. They're memories.
Our children are being slaughtered. I cannot sit back any longer. No one needs a weapon of mass destruction to shoot a fucking deer or to fend off an intruder.
