Mass Shootings in the U.S. chart from 1982 till 2017..Sources: 538.com/Mother Jones.

A short story with a chart..1982 till 2017.. warning:
Very uncomfortable and sad to view this, but it is true.
Hit link to see over all increase since 1982. Some years less. over all: more.

Title of chart: No matter how you measure them, mass shootings deaths are up.

comment:In my opinion this chart says more about gun control and availability of guns than any argument or interview can. So many deaths. Very sad.

for one year...(1999) ...then from 2005 on, look strong increase in deaths..some years double or triple..so when there was an "assult weapons ban" and it worked during those years.(1994-2004)

Then it skyrocketed...please, everyone take a look, the law worked, they took away the ban..and deaths skyrocketed compared to earlier years..

look at the first two spikes. There is around 4-5 years between them. Then the spikes increase and so do the numbers of people killed.

There were AWB compliant AR-15s on the shelves before the ban was in place.

All you need to know about the federal AWB is that Adam Lanza's gun was legal to sell and buy.

Is there any correlation between the amping up of crazy on radio and Fox beginning with Obama's election, and the sharp upturn in mass shooting deaths?

Probably take years to confirm it if it did exist.

When someone feels totally "hopeless" you don't give a shit as to what happens...nothing matters..so what the fuck of the consequences.???

I've been there, and overcame those feelings and thoughts. Many of us have. But many don't.
A 19 year old person stuck in that "shit" might have 60 years left. Who the fuck knows why people give up and do what they do. Some give up, and some fight it, get better and move on. Some get help, some do not...Learn their own ways to combat the nonsense, many do not.

No I don't know why...A few might be influenced by what they hear on the radio and see on TV. Who knows?

That hate and distrust spewing from Fox and Rush, et. al., would then be encountered on social media and amplified by Russian bots. Old farts would likely only be exposed to the broadcasts, but the teens would get 4chan, reddit, twitter, facebook, etc.

Combine with the wild hormonal changes in a teenager and the hopelessness you mention, and it seems to me to be a toxic brew.

Are there any stats on bullying? I would expect those to roughly correspond to these grisly charts.

There is some kind of positive feedback loop going on that's leading to very negative results.

For one US population, in 1982: 231M 2016: 323M It would follow that instances of people committing X action should rise with the increase in number of people, the question is how closely does the rise of X action follow population growth? It's kind of like someone pointing out that a "record" number of people turned out to vote in the presidential election when every year the US has a "record" number of people total so...

There also may be some credence to the rise of copy cats and how information and media are so different nowadays, see Pizza gate.

Just remember when regarding statistics that 99+ percent of the population has an above average number of legs!

like other factors. Many people also look at the 1990s, 2000s widespread rise of prescription psychotropic meds use, especially SSRI types- Prozac, Zoloft, Paxil and others which can cause emotional and behavioral changes, suicidal ideation, aggression and hostiltiy in some people. By mid-2000s, some antidepressants were banned in the UK and given warnings in Canada for these reasons.

Trump has outdone Obama and got an increase in frequency and number of fatalities.

Are they all out of thoughts and prayers yet?

Why are GOP politicians not tired of this bullshit? They won't even offer some weak ineffective nonsense written by the NRA.

All the GOP politicians care about is money and their base. But money comes first. The NRA gives HUGE!!!!!!!!!amounts of money to the GOP, and to Speaker Ryan. So it is money in return for ..."bullshit"..Simple exchange isn't it?

The only real solution to mass shootings in America is to ban all automatic or semi-automatic weapons capable of using a magazine that will hold more than 10 bullets.
