He was a former student. But so far, that's it. They just walked him into police headquarters, wearing a hospital gown. No doubt his clothes are already under forensic investigation.

I heard someone on CNN say how rare it is to capture a surviving school shooter. I can remember quite a few, in the past, who were captured. And it is so depressing to be able to write that particular observation.

5. My kiddo is home sick today.

I’m so glad to have him with me. What these parents are going through is unfathomable...and yet this is the 12th school shooting this year so how many parents have walked this path in 2018, last year and the years before that? I weep for the suspect’s parents too.

13. At this point if I was a parent

Of a kid in school I would demand all schools have a thing to walk through proving you have no guns and as soon as school begins all doors are locked on the outside.

I would be really trying for gun control but since that doesn’t seem possible in this society at least the above since I can imagine even republicans don’t want their kids dead.

Any kids that come late should have one door to go to and call to be let in. Teachers could have a key to the door for lunch time.

We have to come up with some kind of plan as this gets worse and worse with no one doing anything. I can see why many home school now.

14. My Aunt left money to her church's school. When I delivered the check, I walked right thru the door

No security, no nothing. A lot of students standing around, and some personnel, but absolutely no security. Maybe they think that because they are a parochial school, they are in some sort of protected class, but I was pretty shocked.
