(32,004 posts)That his plan to end school shootings was to arm the local police with military surplus.
So our little children can go to school and feel safe.
Walking among soldiers patrolling the school grounds and buildings carrying ominous looking guns .... and tanks surrounding the school buildings. Trump has wet dreams about making us into a military state.

(1,068 posts)There is not and never has been anything 45 can do to "help out" law enforcement in any state, least of all Florida. He can pretend that he is doing something, but that is it.

(9,287 posts)The National Rifle Association spent tens of millions of dollars backing Trump's presidential bid in 2016. The NRA endorsed Trump in May 2016. And the NRA disclosed it spent at least $30 million on Trump's behalf and attacking Hillary Clinton. That level of support is unprecedented more than twice what the NRA disclosed it spent on Mitt Romney's 2012 presidential run.

(135,843 posts)"The eight-year assault on your Second Amendment freedoms has come to a crashing end, Trump told the members of the National Rifle Association, assuring them that they now "have a true friend and champion in the White House."
"I will never, ever infringe on the right of the people to keep and bear arms," Trump said. "Never ever."
He is the first sitting president since Ronald Reagan to speak to the NRA.
White House Press Secretary Sean Spicer called the speech to the NRA's leadership forum, which comes on the 99th day of Trump's presidency, a "good way to end an incredible week."
