but, I admit that it bothered me a bit too--we former Girl Scouts (and likely Boy Scouts) had it drummed into us the proper handling of the flag. Quaint, today, it seems, but it was part of my upbringing. To this day,, I'd never leave a flag flying in the elements, which clearly has gone by the wayside... Yes, quaint, I guess.

Still, I'd never have made an issue of it and those who do are just 'posing', imo. He was overwhelmed with adrenaline and emotion and, he'd just won on behalf of the US and the people that flag represents.

We will all get over it.
