Democrats have a solid 49-41 lead on the generic Congressional ballot, although thats down a shade from December when it was 51-40. (146,316 posts)People do odd things when voting for their own district's or state's candidates. While they may have some opinion on generic races, each individual election is personal, and those generic percentages rarely hold. There are no generic congressional elections, only local, specific ones.

Interesting choice to disregard the generic poll. Most of us don't have a dog in the majority of these individual races, just our votes, as you say, in our own local and state contests.
Yet, this is a measure of how we feel, collectively, nationally, as Democrats. That should matter to anyone who bothers to organize or advocate for our party, including folks gathering here at DU to share and rally.
