Been thinking about this much of the day. I would put money on Mueller indicting Trump

The reason why is because what is occurring with Trump and Russia is likely extremely serious and the FBI knows it is. They are not taking this lightly. Treason on a epic level is going on and they are going to want to send a message that this shit need to stop pronto and heads need to roll. That is my gut feeling and I am sticking to it.

3. On the other hand, watergate required considerable sleuthing

These guys are such bumbling, thuggish fools that I suspect there’s a mountain of very convincing evidence that was very easy to accumulate.

It’s only taking as long as it is because there are soooo many counts and so many crooks.

2. I dont think he technically can, but he can recommend indictment

Not clear on if that’s just doj policy or a hard limit on his powers.

Either way I don’t think he would do the indictment himself.

12. There is nothing in the Constitution that puts the President above the law

Nixon thought this was the case and he found he was wrong.

For offenses like money laundering before he took office there is no reason why he cannot be indicted. None. For actions while he is President* there may be a case made to let the Congress act with impeachment and a trial instead of the regular judicial system.

15. No, I meant mueller himself

I agree he can be indicted, I think the Supreme Court, even this one, would knock down any challenge.

But mueller himself is limited by doj policy and perhaps specific limitations of his charter as special counsel.

But he can certainly recommend indictment and Rosenstein could indict Donnie.

4. I agree

I also think we are only getting the edge of the stories as to what is going on, and what individuals are potentially charged with. Charge someone for jay walking in front of the bank but they know they can also be charged for bank robbery as an example. He is lining up his ducks in a row imo and will take them all out at once.

I hope..

is looking at which Federal Court he will bring his charges . Remember,Trump appointed a new Judge in the DC Circuit which I believe is where Mueller is required to file.

Classified information getting into the wrong hands..by way of those who could be in a very compromising situation...NOT having security clearance is an intelligence emergency...

9. I think the biggest obstacle for Mueller is probably more political than anything else?

He probably has the evidence but the political realities have not yet aligned with the justice side of the equation?

10. I think those will fall in line. The Republican moderates know the base loves Trump

Even though the moderates HATE Trump they are between a rock and a hard place trying to act like they support him to keep the base happy. Mueller coming down hard would give them an opportunity to wash their hands of Trump as much as they can. They will call Limbaugh and Hannity and all the troops and tell them to turn on Trump and they will because they do what they are told. I could be wrong but that is my gut feeling. It will fracture the Republican party to some extent but many of them are dumb. They do what they are told by Hannity and Limbaugh etc.
