Like Susan Rice, I've Sent Emails To Myself To Preserve A Record. So Would ANYBODY...

So would ANYBODY with an ounce of brains. Which is why I'm wondering if Grassley, Graham, and the whole chorus of jackals at Fox News really wants to make an issue out of Susan Rice's email to herself in January 2016.

Susan Rice sent herself an email, explaining what happened in the National Security meetings with Obama, to preserve an electronic paper trail of what happened, for the record. It's exactly the same thing that Comey did after Trump pressured him to drop the Flynn investigation. He wrote memos, and held meetings with other senior FBI staff to tell them what happened, to preserve a record of what happened for the day it might come back to bite him. Rice was simply doing the same thing (the OBVIOUS thing) with her email.

I did the same thing when I found myself working for a malicious, batshit crazy boss. Every time the boss would do something crazy or destructive, I'd write it down, and send myself an email, so that I'd have a record of it WITH A TIME STAMP. I'd have that record, in case I ever needed to use it as proof.

Many people have done this...so I don't know why Grassley, Graham, and Fux News think they can gin up a fake scandal over it. I guess they're just pushing the buttons. They've spent decades doing classical conditioning on their feeble-minded audience, so that now all you have to do is MENTION 'Susan Rice,' 'Hillary Clinton,' 'Eric Holder' or 'George Soros,' and they'll start salivating like a bunch of Pavlovian dogs. It doesn't matter WHAT the story is....if Susan Rice is involved in it...It MUST be BAD!

And by the way, Fux and Friends....if NEWT GINGRICH has to tell you that you're full of shit...you're REALLY full of shit.

Some of my clients refuse to email, so I take outline notes when we speak on the phone, then email myself a more detailed version immediately after, while the memory of the conversation is still fresh.

It has saved my rear end so many times I've lost count. It is also very satisfying when the boss comes in with a "so and so said" query and I flip open my phone log to the conversation, then get to the meat of it with a few mouse clicks and just relax in my chair while he reads my side of the story.

(On rare occasion, it sometimes has caught me in a mistake; if my actions were contrary to my notes. But I'm real quick to admit a mistake and honor it if I catch myself in one.)

I don't remember ever doing it myself, but it makes perfect sense.

but I don't understand the controversy. So Obama said that everything should be done by the book. Surely that cannot be controversial.
And about writing a note to oneself, I've probably written several hundreds of work related e-mails to myself either as a reminder or to look it up later.
Or is the claim that it was an e-mail just for cover? Comey or anybody who was involved could probably confirm what was said.

and even sending yourself information that you want to easily locate later. Being able to customize the subject line helps with that.

Well done Susan Rice.

Now, we haven't seen that for a year. No, loyalty oaths, and someone who wanted the actual facts.

I'm pleased to know, that they took it seriously and did the correct thing.
