holy crap......my local news is nuts, and silly me.....i thought me paying for tv was the end of advertisements!!! It has really become insane with them. UGH.

(58,662 posts)I have recorded episodes of TV series that I watch periodically. Older ones from the 60's/70's generally are 45-50 minutes long. Newer ones from after 2000 are roughly 42-44 minutes long. You do the math.

(100,079 posts)I was watching Stephen Colbert the other day and I counted at least 10 minutes of commercials between the monologue and the 2nd break - and a 3 1/2 minute spot for Jack In The Box! Ugh.
And no I don't care about Flo, or the Helpful Honda people, or Capitol One frequent flyer miles, or Geico ads, or DirecTV, or any of that bullshit.

(111,098 posts)I can usually record about 15-20 minutes before I start watching and then I am able to fast forward thru the commercials before I forget what it was I was watching....
