Want paid paternity.maternity leave? Defer your retirement.

Ivanka, Rubio find a new project: Paid family leave

Marco Rubio is starting to strategize with Ivanka Trump to win over skeptical Republicans on a traditionally Democratic issue: paid family leave.

Rubio has barely started drafting a paid leave bill, much less a broader legislative strategy. But he envisions an idea that has recently gained traction in conservative circles: allowing people to draw Social Security benefits when they want to take time off for a new baby or other family-related matters, and then delay their checks when they hit retirement age.

What a wonderful idea. And if you need to take longer, say 6 months instead of 6 weeks, like most other civilized countries, well then you will need to defer your SS even longer. And, heaven forbid, you have more than one child and want/need to take time off for each? God! These people are just plain evil.

universal health care, months of paid maternity/paternity, weeks of vacation a year, free and quality college education, lower infant mortality rates, etc.? How are we "advanced" compared to them? Their "quality of life" is something I wish we had here. With Rubios and Ivankas running the show our country is going to continue to slide further until it won't ever to be able to recover in our lifetime. They pay slightly higher taxes but in the long run they actually pay less than the average American. Is that much of our budget really going toward the military instead of the citizens?

We pay more for military than the next 9 countries combined. The military industrial complex is bankrupting our country.

I'm off by one. It's the next 8 countries not 9.

who really, really decides when a person retires. And if it isn't the employer, it is very often the health of the person retiring.

What a bunch of kooks. They don't live in the real world.
