GOP candidate's parents make max donations to his Dem opponent

The parents of GOP Senate candidate Kevin Nicholson made maximum campaign contributions to the Democratic senator he’s challenging, CNN reported Monday.

Each of Nicholson’s parents gave $2,700 to Sen. Tammy Baldwin’s (D-Wisc.) campaign in December 2017, the largest amount they can give during the Democratic primary.

Nicholson’s mother, Donna, has been documented as giving thousands of dollars to Democratic candidates over the years. However, this is the first gift either of his parents have made to Baldwin’s campaign since Nicholson announced his own bid.

"My parents have a different worldview than I do, and it is not surprising that they would support a candidate like Tammy Baldwin who shares their perspective,” Nicholson said in a statement to CNN.

“I’m a conservative today not because I was born one, but because of the experience I earned as a Marine in combat, my experience as a husband and father, my choice to be a Christian, the schools I chose to attend and the decision to pursue the career that I have,” he continued.

“Regardless of who may disagree with my life decisions, I would not trade these experiences for anything, and they will always guide my views as Wisconsin's next U.S. Senator."

Must be fun family reunions assuming they host these.

If he was REALLY a Christian, he'd care about healthcare for children, and be a Democrat.

Anyone who's a conservative today who is not a billionaire is really a sucker. A dupe. Getting screwed by billionaires. Sad.

asks “Son, did you do all you could to make life harder for women and minority’s? Did you make sure children had no healthcare? Did you make sure the wealthy received nice, fat TAX CUTS?” Well, that’s what it seems like “ these” Christians are like. 😡

And he typifies many of them. Religious affiliations are self identified.

Like claiming people who blow things up in the name of Islam. The are Muslim regardless of what others say.

After college I moved to a nearby county for my first job.
The first election included electing a dead guy as Coroner ( he died after the date they could change the ballot and 80% of the vote was straight party ) but also the last campaign of Jiggs Johnson.
I never met him but was told he had been running for various offices for 40 years and had never gotten more than a few dozen votes.
He was running for Sheriff in this election but he never ran again. He lived with his parents and all three of them voted. He only got one vote in that Precinct.
