Carl Bernstein: Weve never had a president who lies like Trump

Journalist Carl Bernstein on Sunday expressed doubts that President Trump would sit down for an interview with special counsel Robert Mueller, citing the president’s “compulsive, continual lying.”

“I think many of us will believe it when we see him sit down with Mueller. Look, we have no reason to believe almost anything that DT says. What is so extraordinary about him and his presidency is the incessant, compulsive, continual lying,” Bernstein said on CNN.

“We’ve never had a president who lies like this, certainly in the modern era. Even Nixon,” the Watergate reporter added.

Bernstein’s comments come as speculation swirls over whether Trump will sit down for an interview with Mueller as part of the special counsel’s investigation into Russian meddling in the 2016 election.

Trump has publicly said he’s willing to speak with Mueller under oath. However, his lawyers are urging the president not to sit down with Mueller, citing concerns he could be charged with lying to investigators during the interview.

2. I always remember Nora Ephron's book "Heartburn" which was made into a movie with Meryl

Streep playing Nora. Bernstein was a real SOB and Nora died of breast cancer soon after.

This guy is a PIG. Poor Nora was a real victim and died so soon after the book and film came out. I was shocked.

Nora died in 2012 from leukemia. The movie 'Heartburn' came out in 1986. Her son made a documentary about her titled Everything Is Copy. Bernstein was a terrible husband.

Washington Post reported a few days back, even if they threw out every dreamer, it will only delay our racial makeup by 5 years. I guess Trump voters also don't do math, nor read any articles that don't land on Facebook.
