McConnell, Ryan, and Republicans are holding this country hostage to the threats of Donald Trump...

What other way can we look at it?

Not only will they entertain his most abnormal wishes, such as a military parade, but they refuse to hold him accountable for anything. They continue to let him threaten our democracy and institutions when they could very easily exercise their power of oversight. On top of it all, they let him continue to threaten the Special Counsel that is looking into very serious charges committed against our country, when they could very easily let him know that crimes against our country will be investigated and punished to the full extent of the law. Instead, they hold this threat over the heads of all Americans as if it were the sword of Damocles.

Remember, Republicans could pull the plug on this horrible administration any time they like. Every day they make the affirmative decision to let it go on. And they are quite often cheering the most repressive, backwards stuff. No Republican in office right now has any ethical or moral claim to the high road. Each and every one of them, no exceptions, is as big an asshole as Trump.

threaten to primary anybody who dares to criticize their Dear Leader; I think that's why we're seeing so many "retirements" in safely red U.S. House districts. Or maybe they can't just look at themselves in the mirror anymore. Nah, that's probably not it.

But the biggest and most important reason they're excusing Benedict Donald's most despicable actions and behavior is because they know their days as a political powerhouse in this country are numbered. They know that demographics are against them and will be reduced to becoming a marginalized, regional party unless they destroy our burgeoning multi-racial democracy NOW and replace it with Soviet-style authoritarianism. There's no other explanation for the rampant gerrymandering and voter suppression legislation popping up in red states like toadstools in horseshit after a rainstorm. They're attempting to destroy everything that has made America unique and that "shining city on the hill."

They are all fucking traitors.

Many of them received laundered Russia mob money, too, and there's probably kompromat on some of them as well.

And some are trying to look clean of Trump stain so they can run for POTUS in 2020. Flake and Corker know that they need to put a lot of distance between themselves and Trump before they run in 2020, so they are withdrawing from the GOP mess as soon as they can.
