Rachel Brand of DOJ,next in line under Rosenstein resigns after 9 months on the job to work for

Walmart. Next in line Noel John Francisco a lawyer who worked with Don MacGahn, represented Bush along with Ted Cruz and John Roberts before the SC which gave Bush the presidency. Brand has incredible credentials but why did Walmart have to have her now after only 9 months at DOJ? Walmart got their tax cut now pay Trump back by making Brand an offer she couldn’t refuse and paving the way for Trump to fire Rosenstein in have Francisco interefere with Mueller. Maddow was practically in tears and I want to vomit. Apparently, Ivanka is very close friends with Walmart execs.

Senate confirmed people. On MSNBC they said it could be Scott Pruitt, for example.

makes you think this? Just what do you think will happen when trump fires Rosenstein? Where has he been brought to grief or justice for any of the things he has done that would have had Obama or Clinton clapped in chains?

You mean anyone the Senate has confirmed for whatever position could be placed anywhere? Yes, I know Pruitt has a legal background, but still. Then what happens to the EPA?

I mean, it sounds like this new law removes any power the Senate might have to prevent tRump from appointing someone who has sworn fealty to him.

Justice jobs are plums.

Now she realizes there is a really good chance she will be asked to fire Mueller and she will have to make a decision.

Better to make the decision now. And the WalMart job, which isn't really with WalMart, sounds like a plum job in itself.

1. Associate Attorney General Rachel Brand: Brand is number 3 at DOJ, and would thus succeed Rosenstein. Brand, the first woman to ever serve in the associate AG position, was confirmed in March and oversees several key DOJ components, including the civil, antitrust and civil rights divisions. She's also focused much of her efforts in recent months on supporting the re-authorization of Section 702 of the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act. NOW GONE

2. Solicitor General Noel Francisco or Assistant Attorneys General: The attorney general could also designate Solicitor General Noel Francisco, as well as assistant attorneys general, to act as attorney general following the associate attorney general. Several assistant attorneys general are still awaiting confirmation from the Senate, but those in place at DOJ include Makan Delrahim of the Antitrust Division, Beth Ann Williams of the Office of Legal Policy, Steven Engel of the Office of Legal Counsel and Stephen Boyd of the Office of Legislative Affairs.

3. U.S. Attorney For the Eastern District of Virginia Dana Boente: Boente, who also serves as acting assistant attorney general for national security, would be next as the U.S. attorney in the Eastern District of Virginia. Despite Boente’s October announcement that he would resign once a replacement was confirmed, the Washington Post reported last week that Boente has been selected as the next general counsel of the FBI, replacing James Baker. He also served as acting attorney general briefly after Trump fired then-Acting Attorney General Sally Yates early last year, as well as acting deputy attorney general under Sessions prior to Rosenstein’s confirmation. NOW GONE

4. U.S. Attorney For The Eastern District of North Carolina Robert Higdon, Jr.: Higdon was confirmed by the Senate Sept. 28, 2017. He’s a former federal prosecutor, and was most recently a partner at Williams Mullen. In 2012, Higdon led the prosecution of former Sen. John Edwards.

5. U.S. Attorney For The Northern District of Texas Erin Nealy Cox: The Senate confirmed Cox Nov. 9, 2017. Prior, she was a senior advisor at McKinsey & Company in the cybersecurity and risk practice and worked at the cyber firm Stroz Friedberg. She also spent several years as a federal prosecutor at in the Office of Legal Policy at Main Justice.
