Beware:

Of soldiers and parades and propaganda and patriotism and those that wrap themselves in the flag. There are those that would attempt to use it for political purposes.

There are those that are looking for a political advantage of using our troops, not out of respect, but for personal political gain and for ego gratification.

Do not fall into the trap.

when he served, Nixon was president. He said if he was told to march in a parade and salute Nixon he would have gone AWOL, same for trump.

Attributed to Sinclair Lewis and Huey Long, but Snopes says neither was found to be the author, so unknown at this point. It’s fully appropriate today. “When fascism comes to America, it will be wrapped in the flag and carrying a cross.”

there was a group of neo-Nazis who were called The Proud Boys and they drove down from LA to incite violence and disrupt our peaceful rally. They had more American flags than a flag factory. It really pissed me off more than anything almost. The other thing that really made me mad was the fact that the cops just stood around watching while these idiots use bullhorns to drown out the speakers and to taunt the spectators. Finally one of the speakers, a former councilwoman, called the chief of police and told her to tell the cops to separate the neo-Nazis from the rest of the crowd and they finally did. The cops were complicit in my opinion.
