Does Donald Trump truly respect the military??

Is that really why he wants to have a big parade in Washington?

The sad truth is "No".

A parade would not be about respect for our troops. It would be about the ego of "The Donald" Trump. And it would be for political purposes, as a way to attempt to put his "brand" on our military.

Just one more way to divide our country. There is no good in such an act.

The rule states that money cannot be spent, unless appropriated by the Congress, for that purpose. Spending bills originate in the House of Representatives.

Such a parade would probably be using that money. Which might mean fewer "flyovers" and less military presence at those events next year.
I think the last time the military had an official parade in the streets of a major city was after "Gulf War I" in '91? And that was supposedly to make up for Vietnam and mark the completion of militarily punching Saddam Hussein in the nose.

Honestly, I'd rather put up with the fake patriotainment than a parade for Drumpf's ego. Even when I was active, you'd have to threaten me with a bad conduct discharge to "parade" for no real reason in the streets.

Near the end of my military service, I was in a unit at Ft. Lee where that was our primary job...just to be in parades. It sucked!

After all, the entire purpose of it is for them to thank him for his service.
