http://thehill.com/blogs/blog-briefing-room/news/372197-trump-jr-on-memo-theres-definitely-a-bit-of-revenge-for-me-andPresident Trump's eldest son Donald Trump Jr. said on Saturday that the release of the GOP memo alledging surveillance at the Department of Justice (DOJ) serves as revenge for him and his family by holding FBI officials accountable.
"There is a little bit of sweet revenge in it for me and certainly probably the family in a sense that if they wouldn't have done this, this stuff would be going on. This would be going on at the highest levels of government," Trump Jr. said on the Fox News Channel referring to the allegations in the memo. "They'd be continuing doing it to my father, trying to undermine his actions."
Trump Jr. went on to say he wanted the probe into alleged ties between the Trump campaign and Russian election meddling to come to an end soon.
"Come to a conclusion already because you've been looking for two years, you've come up with nothing other than their own nefarious actions and their own collusions," he said.
The memo, drafted by House Intelligence chairman Devin Nunes (R-Calif.), was released on Friday shortly after the president signed off on its release.
The document accuses Justice Department officials of improperly using information from the so-called Steele dossier to obtain surveillance warrants on Trump's former campaign adviser Carter Page.
Republicans say the release sheds light on what they say is bias in the FBI, though Democrats and intelligence officials say it poses a national security risk.
.......................
Nice of him to give more ammunition to Mueller and admit this was a clear obstruction of justice exercise.
This guy is dumber than his father.
This family is not the brightest.
They just admitted attacking the FBI and the DOJ was a revenge job........
If this does not piss off the Intel community even more......

(4,429 posts)Sure, he's not the brightest bulb. But it speaks more to the fact that he isn't scared. Not really. If it were ME, I'd be listening to my attorneys and not say one word. I'd be shaking.
The fact that he isn't scared means that he assumes that his father will protect him. I guess the question is can he (not will he, we know he will try).
So many republicans are willing to give this family a pass..............I wish we had some way to win back the Senate (too).

(16,126 posts)has never had any consequences for any action he's ever taken.
That's why none of them are afraid...a fine that they will never pay or that will be a tax write-off isn't a consequence for them.

(4,429 posts)We know what they did - and why.....
I just don't trust our system to provide real consequences. It's like PT Barnum is president and there is no one to run him out of town

(16,126 posts)I'm afraid that the next election will be close enough for congress to be fully weaseled in to Republicans and Trump and his ilk will just roost there in the WH until he dies.
consequences always came from his father. I think the only thing he fears is his father's wrath or disapproval. Meanwhile, he is not bright enough to keep his mouth shut.

(464 posts)after they had Secret Service protection, I assume that means that the agents are not required to testify that their charges met with enemies of the state. So, since at least some of these meetings came out, isn't it reasonable to assume that it's very possible that others happened? If Muller called in, say, some of Jared's agents, could they testify that there were other meetings? When an oligarch and any Trumps are in the same Postal Code, you have to think that they met.

(47,589 posts)I wonder what the rules are regarding such things.
It also brings to mind when Junior gave up Secret Service protection last September for a short time because of "privacy concerns". Lasted about a week.
