(11,802 posts)I bought an entrance rated transfer switch, so the whole house is hooked up. No dedicated circuits.

(6,095 posts)on Tuesdays at 1:00. We had a bitter cold snow, electricity went out and it didnt turn on. The person who maintains it for us thinks the regulator may have frozen🙃

(6,095 posts)Seems like the maintenance guy would have told us that was possible. Ill ask my husband. And, thats exactly what I said: spend all that money and it doesnt work when you need it🤨 Fortunately the outage was less than 2 hours😃

(108,994 posts)You sound like my wife! We had a l ready made the purchase, and I asked her what she wanted for X'mas and her reply was "a generator." I wrapped a box that had a downloaded picture of the genny in it and gave it to her X'mas morning. She was slightly angry. "We weren't supposed to get each other anything for X'mas!" She opened it, looked at me with a laugh on her face and called me an asshole.
