Why did Maher prevent David Frum from asking perfectly good questions of Scaramucci?

And say that nobody cares about the question Frum asked? I cared.

But things turned contentious when Frum asked Scaramucci about a business deal he made before joining the Trump administration.

“I have a question for you. Before you went into government, you received an enormous offer from a Chinese group, for the purchase of your company, $90 million, and after you came out the purchasers lost interest. How am I to understand that?”

Scaramucci said the question was “factually inaccurate” and Maher attempted to end the discussion after some crosstalk.

"OK, this is a different show. Nobody knows what you’re talking about and nobody cares," the host said to Frum.

had this as a don't go there. Frum has been very vocal about Mouch in the past. Thought he was coming out of chair and pound the hell out of the Mouch. Hey,this would have better than WWF.

2. The Mouch was claiming the deal got caught up in government regulations.

The crosstalk was a standoff and went on long enough. Frum didn't know enough to nail the Mouch. The Mouch was acting outraged. I'm glad Maher stopped it. Or tried to. There was no point.

And Frum is a Hillary voter and a Never-Trumper. Better a Hillary-voting never-Trumper than Trump supporter or a 3rd party voter or a didn't-vote-at-all.

http://thehill.com/blogs/blog-briefing-room/303984-david-frum-i-voted-for-clinton

Conservative author David Frum, a speechwriter for former President George W. Bush, announced Wednesday that he cast an early vote for Democratic presidential nominee Hillary Clinton.

"To vote for Trump as a protest against Clinton’s faults would be like amputating a leg because of a sliver in the toe; cutting one’s throat to lower one’s blood pressure," Frum wrote in an editorial for The Atlantic Wednesday.

The Atlantic contributor said he has "no illusions" about Clinton but insisted she is a patriot who "will uphold the sovereignty and independence of the United States."

"I do not imagine that she will meet me, or those who think like me, anywhere within a country mile of half-way," he wrote of Clinton.

"Your hand may hesitate to put a mark beside the name Hillary Clinton. You’re not doing it for her. The vote you cast is for the republic and the Constitution," he said.

You said Maher shouldn't give a platform to Republicans. Frum is a conservative Republican. So I asked if that includes him.

And I guess it doesn't because Republicans you like are okay? I personally don't buy into the notion that being a 'never Trumper' magically erases everything else about a conservative Republican like David Frum....or Bill Kristol or Louise Mensch or Rick Wilson and whoever else is on that list.

Just by being a 'never Trumper' that makes all their awful history go away? Every terrible policy they support...it's all okay?

That's a very simplistic notion to say the absolute least, and really kind of offensive. But hey, suit yourself I guess.

8. You put words in my mouth, as usual. I believe Maher doesn't need to showcase guests

who aren't willing to answer good questions.

And I think it's a good thing when he has conservative Republicans on his show who are calling for EVERYONE to oppose Trump. That's much better than a both-major-parties-are-the-same-person. We don't need to hear any more from those idiots.

monologue (funniest one I’ve ever heard from him, to be fair), has been going downhill for a long time

His ego is something to behold, and his depth of knowledge on any subject you can name is embarrassingly shallow

Great post, BTW, though I’ll never trust Frum after his W hagiography
