It is only a question of "when" not if. Why? Trump has totally offended most of the world with his lies and self centered way operating. Moreover, this job is not like his businesses. He cannot declare bankruptcy and start over. To get some peace and serenity back, he must resign. That is the only way.
Trump has totally pissed off the FBI, Great Britain, Germany, Canada, Mexico, every Democrat or independent in the U.S.A., the military, and on and on and on. His total lies and total self absorption are the key. Whatever limits there are or were, Trump has gone way beyond them. There is a certain way you act when you are a leader of a nation in the today's world. Trump acts in ways that no leader would act. Further, he cannot un- brake the laws that he has broken. He lied when he swore to uphold the Constitution. Most of the media is totally offended by Trump, as are many business leaders. The U.S.A is a great country. Trump is a classless fool with no clothes on. He has no class. None. He is a total embarrassment to most of us.
For those who want to see and understand what "class" is all about , one only needs to compare the actions and behavior of Trump with the person who was our last president. After a short thought and a moment, almost everyone will see and understand the difference. Unfortunately, Trump is not part of that ..."almost everyone."

(2,850 posts)I'm trying to figure out what you are basing this on. It seems like you are attributing your opinion to them for no real reason.

(38,436 posts)I believe that it is impossible to be part of the Washington scene and not understand what works and what doesn't work. What is good and what is bad. What is legal and what is illegal. You watch and listen because you have to. Hatch as much as I dislike him, and I do, has been a senator for 41 years. That means he came to the senate in 1977. Three years after Nixon resigned. He still is able to speak and listen. He knows, as does Leahy. You cannot be sane and stay a senator and not know. You know what is ultimately accepted, and what is not. No matter what those two say, I believe they know. They know that Trump has already lost. He cannot win, and he will not change his behavior in order to have a chance to win. He has already lost.

(34,661 posts)Hatch has dirty hands . Remember he brought in people to Hack Ted Kennedy's e-mail account in order to get internal info on the Democratic National Committee as well as every Dem seeking reelection at that time.
Sorry, can not defend Orin Hatch, knowing how he operates during Campaigns in Utah,no why can I defend him. Mr Leahy is one of the most honest Senators to ever serve his Country.

(7,432 posts)he wants to canonize Trumpy or make him Emperor/Pope. Durning a recent televised meeting, Hatch couldnt stop slobbering over himself when praising the Almighty God Trumpy.

(2,850 posts)You are trying to argue that 40 years in the senate would inexorably lead them to your conclusions about Trump. Why should they believe that Trump has lost already just because they have been in the Senate a long time? That's illogical and it doesn't reference anything they have actually said or written. I agree that both men have an understanding of how Washington works, but you haven't shown that Washington is going to be able to correct the aberration that is Trump.
I would like to believe your conclusions about Trump, but your post doesn't give me any reason to believe that Leahy and Hatch do.

(11,276 posts)I think Stewart used them because they give thought to things before they speak or act. Unlike Trump who speaks nonsense and is a legend only in his own mind.

(43,188 posts)(who I think was supposed to be a subliminal stand-in for FDR in the GOP mindset), Trump has been nothing but the anti-FDR. He has trashed all but Social Security and Medicare which are in the shredding pile right now. Anti-environment. Anti-civil rights. Anti- peace. Anti anti-discrimination. Anti-FBI. Anti-USA.
This has been a war. We must conquer and claim the rubble to rebuild what we can.

Good click-bait but distracting from an honest discourse.

(8,254 posts)no so sure abt that,,,,,,, No matter what Mueller does , he will resist..... this congress will not impeach. If next congress impeaches, the senate will not convict. If he is tried in criminal court, no 12 person jury will convict him. So he remains in power and by the end of four years , he will have corrupted our system so much he will win again no matter how many vote against him..........
Lost,,,,,,, ummmmm?
