John Drake rarely used a gun, relying on his wits and, if necessary, his fists to get out of the scrapes he inevitably found himself in.

The Russians were crafty bad guys, and the people who collaborated with them were dealt with appropriately.

There is also a series called the FBI Files. It was on Discovery from 1998-2006.
