(5,810 posts)As if she was talking about another person. It was weird and very off putting. Another co-worker and I often speculated about why she did that. (Among MANY odd and annoying things she did.). We concluded that it was just another indication of some kind of personality disorder. Like one of her personalities commenting on another of her personalities.
So maybe tRump has Multiple Personalities and when he references himself that way (tRump says this or does that) he is just commenting on one of the many personalities crammed into his cranium. Hmmmm. Another psychiatric issue to add to the mix of his disorders??

(10,185 posts)"Still, its pretty unusual for the average person to use illeism. Most often when a person does so its because theyre being either defensive about or protecting a particular image. Thats why some think that folks who talk about themselves in the third person might actually be revealing their narcissism. For narcissists, of course, its always about image."

It's frequently associated with narcissists but it is sometimes used by people who are Not narcissists.
If you refer to yourself in the third person when self talking, it will help you feel better about yourself. But some people do it in public probobly trying to bolster their image.
It's a really annoying habit but "Trump" seems to pick up every habit that is annoying.

(1,074 posts)Does he not know how long Nixon was being investigated??! Does he not know that sometimes it takes that long, or even longer???

(5,810 posts)tRump was old enough when Watergate happened to have some knowledge of it from his own memory and experience. I was about 25 or 26 when that was happening and tRump is a few years older than I am. I was not tuned into ALL the things that happened but I do remember watching the hearings daily for quite a while. I remember the key players and certainly remember how it all turned out, especially for Nixon. I have learned more since it happened by reading and listening to others who were involved. (John Dean, for example.)
But remember, this is tRump we are talking about. Chances are, he never paid that much attention to it as it was happening. And he sure wont pick up a book now to fill in the gaps. Hell, he wont even read a three page summary, just so he is familiar with the key names, who went to prison and the general plot line.
So to answer your question. No. He has no idea how long the investigation took. All he knows he wants his investigation to go away and leave him unscathed.

BTW the Nunes memo does not clear Trump but any which way but for the

(26,268 posts)He's a deep to the marrow of his bones narcissist, and therefore is probably more than a little paranoid. The more cornered they feel, the more viciously they lash out. They spread blame like a hippo sprays and spreads dung.
I retired early to get away from someone just like trump* (lying, pathological narcissist) so until he's gone, I'm not even approaching a recovery stage.
Botany
(70,516 posts).... a damp grey fog has come over me and things just don't make any sense.
Hell, last week he had our head of the CIA meet w/one of the top FSB(?) Russian spies
even though that man had been banned from the U.S. as a threat to our nation. And
what did they talk about? Cyber security. R you kidding me??????

(26,268 posts)What worries me is that nobody will try to stop trump* from doing whatever he thinks necessary to distract people from his malfeasance. I'm actually finding it necessary to force myself to make plans for anything more than a few days in advance. It's hard to plan for a future when you really aren't sure there will be one.

(10,129 posts)And dangerous. He is now in full attack mode and is as desperate as he had ever been. He will burn down the world as to not be proven guilty and have the truth come out.
He is telegraphing his plans to start firing people and shutting down the investigation.
Let's see if any Republicans have any shred of a spine.
