The memo will serve it's purpose - giving Trump an excuse to fire RR

It doesn't matter what any pundit or analyst says about the memo. Trump watches Hannity and Fox and Friends and takes his cues from there. Hannity has already laid out that this memo is a bombshell, that the investigation against Trump is compromised, that there is corruption at the highest levels of the FBI.

The Fox JV team has repeated those talking points through the evening. While people like us watch Rachel Maddow and CNN, Trump and his fans watch the Fox shows - and all of them are talking about the memo in exactly the opposite terms as our side is.

Once Trump gets back from his SB party, he will have spoken on the phone to his cronies, most of whom will be telling Trump exactly what he wants to hear - that the memo shows he has been treated unfairly and that the R's will have his back when he fires RR and takes other steps to stop the Russia investigation (which is his primary and immediate goal).

We all know that the truth doesn't matter with Trump and his fans. They have a script - "Hillary paid for a dossier of lies - that false dossier led to a phony investigation into Trump - the FBI is filled with Hilary loyalists who have it in for Trump - etc. etc." - that will not be impacted in the slightest by anything anyone says on MSNBC or CNN.

The "dud-ness" of the memo is not relevant. The Papadapolus factor is not relevant. The truth about the Steele dossier is not relevant. None of this matters at all as long as the Fox News "heavy hitters" keep hammering home their version of reality and the Republicans on Congress back up that version.

There are elected members of Congress calling for Comey, McCabe, Yates, and Rosenstein to face treason charges. Hannity is calling for Comey to be arrested. Every Trump fan and Trump bot is beating this drum.

On Monday morning, Fox and Friends will sing the tune that Trump wants to hear. It will help guide him down the path of firing Rosenstein. There is no one who can stop him from doing this - and this is very obviously what he wants to do.

Rosenstein will be fired by the end of the week. What happens after that?

Fox News and the jackass in the White House may have convinced themselves they can do whatever they want a la Nixon.

Regardless of what the idiot says about his reason for firing Comey, Rosenstein and Sessions both signed off on specific justifiable causes. Hell, Obama should have fired that Comey asshole!

We've been through this before with Nixon.

"Go ahead, make my day!"

Nixon thought he could fire anyone.

Republican senators are already saying this will not happen.

Republican senators are already warning the ignorant jackass.

The "right" moves now, we'll have significant Democratic majorities in November/January - if the impeachment process doesn't start sooner!

To me, this is like the jackass saying, "The elections are rigged." It's a branding thing, an ad thing for when he lost.

Same thing with his ridiculous spin that FBI and DOJ are hubs of "liberal bias." That will be his story until we bury his body.

As someone commented to me, the Republicans from that generation are extinct.

Let's see if any Republicans actually stand up to Trump when push comes to shove.

When Nixon went down, Democrats had large majorities in both the House and Senate.

Now the Republicans control everything - and they are without shame.

It is infuriating.

I hope and pray that we finally see something from Trump and his ilk that gives us a modicum of hope.
