The Republican Party do not know how to govern. They always put the USA in a whole. This time, it's happening much faster.

(3,416 posts)I don't read a lot of political causation here. Apple and Alphabet (Google) released disappointing earnings news yesterday. Both are big drivers of equity markets.
Trump's incompetence has been priced in for months.
The market has been overpriced (historically) for a while. Equity pricing is based on fundamentals (antici0ated earmings), and emotion (a hope that others will continue to bid up the price of a security based on "gut feelings" and a fear that you will be left behind).
The uncertainty over public turmoil may have been the pin prick that burst the current bubble, but a correction was inevitable.
