"Lies" and "damn lies".

"Lies" that we've all told at some point in our lives include: I didn't eat that cookie; I have been home all day; That's a great new hair style; and, You haven't changed a bit.

I understand these. They are lies, but they are not evil. Some are even an attempt at kindness.

Few of us have told "damn lies". Lies like: This tax cut is will primarily benefit the middle class; Klansmen and neo-nazis are fine people; I didn't say what I previously admitted I said on that tape.

These are evil in a way that most of us don't really know how to react to beyond being repulsed and sickened. And, this is our "leader"?
