What Republicans are doing now is going to give Democrats in the future a virtual license to steal.

The GOP Trump Cover-Up Is GOOD!!
<snip>

Think about it. How can a Republican in the future seriously talk about the rule of law? How can a future Republican Congressional leader talk about Congressional over-sight? How can Republicans complain about the corruption of a Democratic Administration in, say, 2025 when they have looked the other way at corruption in the Trump Administration from the very first hours after the Inauguration?

And the answer is, for all practical purposes, they can't. The minute that a Republican stands up to demand an investigation into any wrong-doing in a future Democratic Administration, the Democratic Speaker of the House or the Democratic Senate Majority leader will just stand up, smile, chuckle a bit and then say the magic words, Donald Trump. - ChicagoNow

Hold your noses for now and lock arms with your fellow democrats, undeterred. Turn about is fair play.

They have the media at their disposal.

They have gaggles of multimillionaires and billionaires that are willing to write big $$$$ checks and fund dark money groups.

They have a fiercely committed 30-40% (depending on pollster) that take everything that comes from they GOP as the gospel truth.
