10. Are You Aware That Under The Greenbriar Hotel Is A Secret Government Bunker.....

I thought I heard they were going to the Greenbriar when I learned of the train crash yesterday - that the Repugs (with their families) were headed to the Greenbriar Hotel.

I got nervous because I remember hearing of the top secret U.S. government relocation facility for Congress in the event of a nuclear attack. And especially when I learned that they had their families with them my mind went to overload.

This bunker was secretly constructed under this luxurious hotel a few hours away from the capital by order of President Eisenhower from 1958 to 1962. The Greenbriar is surrounded by mountains which could have provided protection from enemy aircraft. It has a blast door that weighs 18 tons. On two levels, it could accommodate 1,100 people. A vast room labelled Governor’s Hall could be transformed into the 435-seat House of Representatives; the Mountaineer Room would hold the Senate. In the event of war, it could have been business as usual for the legislative branch of the US government. It has 18 dormitories complete with lockers, bunk beds. The bunker had everything: its own power plant, hospital, water and fuel supply.

Now the last I heard it was like a tourist attraction and one can tour the bunker. Supposedly some of the bunker was restored to it's original design.

I couldn't sleep last night - because my mind ran away with my imagination. I was thinking maybe the complete bunker was secretly and recently restored and restocked and the reason that the Repugs and their families were going to the Greenbriar was because they knew something was about to happen and they would be protected. You know that Trump has a bigger button than NK.

It doesn't help when one watches programs like 'Hunting Hitler'. The Nazi's had underground bunkers all over the place. The History Channel can be very informative - but sometimes it puts nasty ideas in one's mind.

Some uncles own a cabin not too far downstream

From 1942-46 it was owned by the Federal Government and used as an Army hospital. My grandfather spent 2 years there recuperating.

Thanks for the details, my much admired global1, but SHIT. This is really scary, especially that connection to it, 2 min. to midnight. It makes sense.

We are all going to have to be so, so tough, and in my own experience, love conquers fear.

Too (now that I think of it), chamomile tea- hot, with honey, melatonin, grass, and youtube videos on a loop with a relaxing sound (for me, it's pages being turned) are nice, and may at least give you the torpor for a healthy sleep.
