Would you vote for someone that you knew was dishonest, lied all the time, could never be trusted?

What can we surmise from people that would vote for such a person?

Other than ignorance?

Immorality, untrustworthy, petty, no empathy, no redeeming qualities.

Who would vote for such a person?

Trump was not elected by the majority of voters.

He was elected by the majority in the electoral college, an anachronism we need to end with a constitutional amendment.

as we well know.

The majority of voters who voted DT voted due to anxiety about those that are not straight white people.

The majority of voters - as well as the majority of voters who voted on economic issues went with our candidate.

I was not referring to Hillary other than to say she really won the election.

Only our antiquated, outdated system with an electoral college put Trump in the White House. Trump is an imposter in my opinion. He did not win the election -- not if you measure winning by a democratic standards -- the only fair standard in my view.

I was responding to the post right above mine, not to the original post.

Watching Fox News could make a person who has a lot of money pretty miserable.

I bet there is a correlation between watching Fox News and voting for Trump.

But always remember, Trump did not win a majority of the popular votes. He lost California big-time. He lost by 3 million votes, I believe. We often forget that.

Those who were angry about their lack of economic choices voted for Hillary. Those who were angry about black and brown public figures, older women in authority, and LGBTQ "perverts" voted for Trump.

What sort of ignorant, immoral, petty, untrustworthy "progressive" would spread the false propaganda that we saw smeared all over social media about her - even from the left? And some right here on DU.

Who could trust such a person who would do that?

What could motivate them other than ignorance?

What can we surmise from that sort of self-defeating undermining that was a huge plus for DOTUS?

I have a family member who says that they do not support Trump, but every other rightwing meme they post is attacking the so called "liberal media" for criticizing Trump.

The first thing they do with brainwashing is to convince you that you are not being brainwashed but learning some exclusive truth. Anything that does not conform to your ideology then it is enemy. I always ask this family member first to define "liberal media" then to list what the "liberal media" consists of. I never get an answer just continuing right wing memes.

I would imagine that people who voted for Trump, unless they were extremely honest and said that they were completely taken in by a con man with populist rhetoric, or they voted to maintain a White, Male, Christian hegemony, that they could not give a decent answer.

The answer is really simple: someone who is also dishonest and untrustworthy.

The saddest thing about this election is that masks were ripped off and people who I once thought were decent people have turned out to be amoral and dishonest people hiding that fact until it became socially acceptable not to.

It has become socially acceptable now to be the worst versions of themselves and a lot of people have moved quickly to do so. They revel in their allegiance to their orange clown leader and in their hatred of anyone who isn't them.
