GOP fundraiser accused of rape appears in court

A man well-connected to the Utah State Republican Party made his first court appearance on Monday after charged with raping four different women.
Greg Peterson, 37, was arrested last Wednesday and booked into the Salt Lake County Jail on 25 charges, including rape, sexual abuse, forcible sodomy and kidnapping.
“Their allegations are simply not true; this simply didn’t happen. Our client didn’t commit a crime or commit any legal acts,” says Cara Tangaro, Peterson’s Defense Attorney.
The financial planner and internet entrepreneur’s attorneys also thinks his bail is unreasonably high at three-quarters of a million dollars.
