No, Ivanka Trump didnt stop Jose Andres from getting into a party. Heres what really happened.

If there’s a simple lesson in all of this, said Cafe Milano owner Franco Nuschese, it’s talk before you tweet.

On Saturday night, Nuschese’s fellow restaurateur José Andrés claimed via Twitter that he was denied entry to an exclusive event at Cafe Milano. Andrés, who spent nearly two years in a legal battle with President Trump and has staunchly criticized the administration’s stance on immigration, took his beef a step further by suggesting that Ivanka Trump had something to do with the slight.

By Sunday morning, the Twitterverse, including input from a former Mexican ambassador and celebrity chef Anthony Bourdain, appeared convinced of Cafe Milano’s — and Trump’s — malevolence. Hours later, however, Andrés, Trump and Nuschese were all pals again.

He was never invited in the first place, they’ve all kissed and made up, Ivanka had nothing to do with it, and the party was chock full of high ranking Dems.

Jan 2018

Excerpt:

“I said, ‘José, it was just a private party, and I’m sorry for the misunderstanding, and I’m sorry for the way that you feel,’ ” Nuschese recalled. After their chat, Andrés corrected the record via social media, tweeting in part, “Now let’s all be friends.” He also thanked Ivanka for “reaching out” and said he believed she had nothing to do with it. Andrés then suggested they work on immigration reform together.

Based on the story?

How, exactly, and why, exactly, does that happen? In the original thread here folks are actually chortling because the yelp stars were diminishing

You write a bullshit review about a place you never been to based on a bullshit story about a bunch of bullshit people you've never met and could give 2 shits about you, your family or your life

How? Why?

"Hey! I heard something I don't like about a place I'd never walk into in a million years! Let me write a bad review about it!"

I have Yelp reviews up but I have a very strict policy: if I've never eaten there, I don't review the place.

If someone writes a malicious and fictitious review with the expressed intent to harm and cause damage to a person or business how is that not slander or libel or whatever?

This story specifically turns out to be phony, a misunderstanding from what I gather. So the lie is magnified, multiplied.

So do the people who write the bogus reviews, recant them? Delete them? Go back and say just kidding!

And for the purposes of this forum, DU, what is the culpability? I'd feel like a complete idiot is I actually bragged about writing a bullshit review, or even worse encouraged others to do so

I just don't get it

In the future it would be wise for this restaurant, and restaurants all across the country to deny service to known trump supporters and to do everything they can to avoid providing a safe gathering place for republicans.
