A low audience rating will hurt Trump more than anything. He's such a sad human being.

or go off script. The audience may react negatively, even if they do so in a restrained manner. That will cause the meltdown or the straying from the script. Then he will be massacred by the press and his critics. He will melt down again.

If there is a small audience for the SOTU, he will lie about that endlessly, just like he lies about his inaugural crowd.

This would be fun if the fate of the world, our very survival, was not at stake.

I wish there was some well-publicized alternative to the SOTU, something everyone could see on TV or the internet. It should take place at the same time as the SOTU, ignoring him altogether. It should be something like the puppy bowl for the people who do not watch the Super Bowl. I would like to see an anti-SOTU that would steal some of the attention from him.

his accomplishments (many of them due to Obama’s efforts). If he says anything of importance, I'll be very surprised.

I managed to get through the bush year ones (gagging at cheneys smirking face in the back ground).
It will be very hard to watch, and this is coming from a person who loves the scary Stephen King stories and watches The Walking Dead, Breaking Bad, etc. It is the real life horrors that are the hardest to face.

But something in me reminds me that the most important things we all must do as American citizens is to pay attention to what is going on. Even if it means being sickened by any current persons holding the seat of POTUS.

So far I have only had to watch this idiot in small clips. I am afraid to see a whole speech, but I want to get the full effect! (geez, my stomach feels queasy just thinking about it now!)
I am looking forward to the Democratic response as well as something Colbert and Pod Save America will be doing. That will be a balm after the SOTU.

I don't know what will be worse....hearing him go on and on about how great he is or seeing Pence sitting behind him.
