President Trump ordered aides to smear potential FBI witnesses who could confirm he tried to fire Mueller: reportBY DENIS SLATTERY NEW YORK DAILY NEWS Saturday, January 27, 2018, 3:26 PM
President Trump not only sought to have special counsel Robert Mueller fired, he also sought to discredit top FBI officials out of fear that they could be witnesses against him.
Following former FBI Director James Comeys testimony before the Senate intelligence committee last June, Trump ordered aides to smear three potential FBI witnesses who could confirm that the President tried to end or influence Muellers investigation, Foreign Policy reported on Friday.
Trump, who was reportedly talked down from ordering Muellers dismissal last June after White House lawyer Don McGahn threatened to quit, fired Comey a month earlier.

(5,269 posts)Certainly seems like a coordinated effort involving Nunes and other Congressional Repubs along with Fox news support. I wonder if one of Kellyanne's roles is to coordinate the smear attacks.
If he also directed campaign and WH staff to lie about having Russian contacts and directed any of them to lie to investigators, that would certainly be an impeachable offense.
