https://medium.com/@jcweatherby_49412/its-time-to-start-calling-evangelicals-what-they-are-the-american-taliban-4a41731296e4"I have said for years and years, the Christian Right is really seeking to establish a theocracy in the United States at least regionally, throughout the deep south. And this latest effort by the Council for National Policy lays further proof to that claim. This is an effort which in spite of what many Christian leaders say is NOT supported by the Constitution. The Constitution strictly prohibits the establishment of Religion, as part of the First Amendment, which also guarantees Freedom of Speech and Freedom of the Press. The purpose of this Separation of Church and State is intended to do two things:
1. It protects religious freedom for everyone.
2. It prevents the tyranny of any one religion."
K & R if you agree!

(11,949 posts)And do not focus on Abortion, although do not shy from it, especially since there are republicans in Congress who support jail for women who have an abortion.
But they are against birth control, same sex marriage and even legal rights.
This is a great example of when they go low, kick them in the face. Make it shameful to be associated with the right wing evangelical movement.

(11,949 posts)A Christian. Catholic even. No one doubts his sincerity.
He is personally against Abortion but strongly pro-choice in a legal sense.
This is a route to destroying the entire right wing of the right wing party.
Look how fast opinion changed on same sex marriage.

(13,110 posts)I have been saying this for quite some time.
If you are a political junkie, like me, it is impossible to miss.
Their goal is to turn the U.S. into a Christian Theocracy (The Prosperity Gospel) run by global corporations.
They are the greatest threat this country faces.
We must see them for what they are, the enemy.

(16,786 posts)Evangelicals oppose Abortion, Marriage Equality , Contraception, etc., based on Bibe rather than take a Constitutional position. They hate most of the Constitution save for the 1st and 2nd Amendments.

Prove that your religious fantasies have a basis in fact. Until then, government policies should no more be based on the Buybull than on a cartoon.

(43 posts)You might want to check out a website called "Theocracy Watch". It has been following the take over of the republican party by the religious right for several years and has some very good information.

(36 posts)they are trying to impose their views on our educational system! This is a serious threat to our freedom of speech and the suppression of intelligent discourse among youth by instilling fear and hatred.
