(38,439 posts)Yes, you have to watch it to get the entire picture, but the conclusion is that Trump's attempt to fire Mueller, and actually ordering someone to do this, define an illegal act. That he did order it according to the three experts, meant he did indeed try to end the investigation, therefore, he did indeed tried to obstruct justice. This is totally damning of Trump. I recommend it highly, because it isn't a question of if or when he did something totally illegal, it is an explanation that he did indeed do something illegal.
Yes, you need to listen and watch the entire 9 minutes or so. Why? It explains clearly that Trump is in far deeper than many people acknowledge or have an idea of. ..And, Most important, Trump was warned by his legal counsel that this was indeed wrong/illegal to try to fire Mueller.
So Trump did it anyway..

(5,071 posts)Do you suppose, now that this illegal act has been established, that any further acts, particularly by members of Congress to impede or undercut Mueller's investigation could be considered a conspiracy to further obstruct justice?
Stuart G
(38,439 posts)If Congress tries to impede or undercut Mueller it would appear to all to be wrong.
But would that be illegal? I do not know, but I doubt it. (I am not a constitutional lawyer, or a lawyer)
Congress does what it wants to .

(5,071 posts)If this is now established that tRump's order to fire Mueller is an illegal act, then I would say that "high crimes and misdemeanors" is a relevant phrase to remind our House Representative of. I will be contacting my Representative on Monday.

(38,439 posts)still has the final authority to act or not act. My opinion is the Republican Controlled House of Representatives will not act. Yes, that is my opinion
