Looking at all the fronts of opposition that are coordinating attacks on Dems, I'm so depressed.

It's not just Trump and his congressional Republicans that we are up against, its non-stop propaganda at Fox and all the rightwing hate radio affiliates, and the whole alt universe of conspiracy theorists. The rightwing pundits, opinionists, commentators, and writers of political fiction that prop up Republican lies.

And Russia, from Putin and his political officers, to counter intelligence agents, hackers, Russian bots and Russian trolls, all the untracked Russian money laundering, goes toward underming Dems. Trump's association with foreign despots and tyrants that praise him and encourage his excesses emboldens his party. The NRA. The politicization of the military and law enforcement toward Republicans. The well funded pro Republican groups like ALEC, Republican think tanks churning out tilted white papers and fake studies to tear down Democrats.

The right bent PACs, and the right bent judiciary aren't going to help Dem causes. State, and even local legislatures in red states are determined to eliminate Democrats. Republican designed gerrymandering and voter suppression tactics keeps Dems marginalized. Pro Republican corporations and financial leaders, the industrialists, polluters and extractors, and assorted billionaires are't funding Dems. The entire religion business, their snake oil con men, hucksters, scam artists turned proselytizing for Republicans into a money maker.

The white supremacists, neo Nazis, militia groups, secessionists, racists, misogynists... everyone probably has their own lists, but it just seems to go on and on with no end in sight. Republicans have excelled at playing the long game, and they've spent millions over decades to prop up and strengthen their brand from all angles while Democrats were blithely arguing every nuanced possibility about actually being a progressive, people first, political party.

So, here we are (again!) with few options and a questionable strategy, trying to compete with the Republican propaganda machine. Republican suck at actual real governance, but their brand promotion and sales tactics is unbeatable.

So what are the odds that Democrats can ever go up against all these opponents with any chance of success?

appear to have cranked up their Spin Machines big time. Just know that people like the Koch Brothers and Adelson as well as other Billionaire Families have tons of skin in this game. And they are going to protect their bought and paid for Politicians. Remember,Sanders called this the Koch Shut down.

And those marchers are not only women, and they are working behind the scenes, and they have had some major successes.

Turn off the television and radio, and unplug from social media for a bit, and get involved locally. Be heard.

10 redstate Dems were given the nod to vote for it and the pack of would be presidential .candidates voted against it.

This was Washington politics as usual and not some great victory.

Not sure of your intent with that remark, but everyone is welcome to post at DU regardless of their post count or longevity date.

I do concur with your last sentence, however, as usual the Republican are getting a lot of mileage out of that.

It's difficult to keep up with the minute by minute assaults and try to suss out truth from hyperbole. People get overwhelmed and then they just throw up their hands in disgust and tune it all out, but I suspect that is the intent. That, too, depresses me.

Democrats should be better prepared by now, but they don't appear to be in the game. I'm hoping smarter people will arise from the field with better solutions. We deserve better than we're getting out of the current crop in DC.
