So what the hell IS going to be shut down?

I keep trying to read about what actually is going to be shut down now, but all they do is list what will remain open.

I'm in the process of finalizing for another year a housing grant I get.

1. I'd suspect that processing of housing grants will stop for the time being

I briefly administered housing grants at the local level through the HUD database. Since the employees at HUD will be furloughed, the processing on their end will probably stop. That would be my guess.

Military personnel will not get paid, which could impact mortgage payments, etc.

to shut down a lot of the Farm Service Agency functions. It will impact a lot of growers down here in South Florida working on post Irma recovery efforts.

Talk about wasteful unnecessary spending. And those weekly million dollar golf boondoggles. And who's paying for all those cheeseburgers in bed?
