Topic today: Trump & GOP building the narrative to stymie 2018 Blue WaveMany accuse me of always being a pessimist as it relates to Democratic prospects even in 2018. Look, when I expressed concern about the Hillary Clinton campaign, members of the largest and most trafficked Liberal site in the country virtually slaughtered me. The same applied when I challenged the Ossoff euphoria in Georgia.
The winds are decidedly at the backs of progressives at this instant in time. After all, Democrats have flipped 34 seats and Republicans only 4 since the election of Donald Trump. The one thing I know is that the Republican Establishment learns fast. They do not change their ideology are their evil deeds. But they sure know how to adjust the narrative. It is happening right now with the help of many major corporations that are given many of them electoral plausibility.

"...members of the largest and most trafficked Liberal site in the country"
"virtually slaughtered me. "
--------
What most trafficked liberal site is that?
What concern for the Hillary Clinton campaign did you express?
Perhaps expand on whom & why you're accusing.
I would expect, going into a highly trafficked Liberal site, that expressing "concern" about the Liberal HC campaign may be met with disagreement.
Depends on how your "concerns" were presented, I suppose.
What were your expectations?
Perhaps give some examples, & we can get to the gist of the issue you present.
Thanks

(54,027 posts)As a political culture, I think Democrats suffer from excessive rosy expectations. Bandwagon effect is nice, rah-rah, but I wish we could spend more time organizing and less time rubbing our palms together in anticipation

(6,288 posts)Every State has it's own organizing groups supported by Democratic groups on the National level.
Here are just a few others:
The organizers at iVote worked with partners on the ground to get automatic voter registration on the ballot in Nevada in 2017. 450 brand-new civic leaders and activists attended The Arenas very first summit and theyre on track to train 5,000 people by the end of 2018.
At the Alliance for Youth Action, young people are using local organizing to address economic inequality, attacks on voting rights, and more.

The team at Latino Victory Fund is working to elect more Latino candidates at every level of government.
More than 400 students and leaders met last month at the Voto Latino Power Summit to share resources and tools for national advocacy. And with the help of Collective Future, 23 African-American candidates have been elected to local, state, and federal offices since August 2016.
Along with Indivisible, Color of Change, Emerge America, Swing Left, and Run for Something
To name just a small few.
How can you make the statement .."wish we could spend more time organizing and less time rubbing our palms together in anticipation"?
While some wish, others unite for a common purpose & act.
The Democratic Party is doing just fine in their State, local & campaign movements across the country.
