A reminder: you know what you know. I know that it is often exhausting to wade through

all of the outright bullshit that the Dark Side is shovelling at us each day. Even our "old reliable" talking heads allow klansmen and Nazis to use their microphones to spew their hatred and ignorance into our homes. And, many of us occasionally find ourselves wondering if what we are hearing isn't just "the new normal" and if it is us who needs to "adjust".

But, if we can simply step back from the "widening gyre", we allow our own goodness, our integrity and our common sense to steady and reassure us. The moral pygmies that make up this administration are nothing if they are not transparent. They depend not on the quality of their lies but, rather, on the quantity of their lies. In plain language, their intent is to shovel bullshit into the media faster than the media---or America---can deal with it. So, DON'T---don't even try to thoughtfully consider anything that originates with the White House or their Republican accomplices.

We know that policies which widen the gap between rich and poor are not only immoral, they are bad business.

We know that any group which encourages hatred of and discrimination against others because of the color of their skin, how or if they worship a supreme being or who they love is a group which should not be permitted to govern.

We know that there is actually just one race: the human race. Everything else is just culture.

We know that our nation's true success is measured not by the welfare and lifestyles of our rich and famous, but by how well we care for "the least among us".

You know this and much more that is right and good and true. Focus on what you know in your heart and soul and do your best to ignore anyone who even begins to disagree with that.

Right is right even when no one does it and wrong is wrong even when everyone does it.
